Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data JobBuddy (the web dashboard and the JobBuddy Chrome extension) collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the extension you agree to this policy.

We only collect what we need to find jobs for you and apply on your behalf:

• Account details: your full name, email address and password. Passwords are stored by our backend in hashed form.
• Resume: the file you upload and the details we extract from it, such as name, phone, email, links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio), skills, job titles, experience and education.
• Profile details: your LinkedIn profile URL and the answers you save for common application questions (for example notice period or expected salary).
• Job search preferences: titles, locations, work style, experience level and salary range. These are stored in your browser.
• Jobs and applications: LinkedIn job listings collected by the extension (title, company, location, link, description), match scores, and a record of the jobs you applied to.
• Application forms: when you start an application, the extension reads the questions in the LinkedIn Easy Apply form and may take a screenshot of that LinkedIn tab, so our service can prepare answers.
• Payments: your plan, order ID, payment ID and payment date. Card, UPI and bank details are entered directly with Razorpay and never reach our servers.
• Usage data: basic technical and usage information (browser, pages visited, errors) used to keep the service running and improve it.

• To create and secure your account and keep you logged in.
• To match collected jobs against your resume and show you the best fits.
• To answer application questions and fill LinkedIn Easy Apply forms when you ask us to apply.
• To track your applications and apply the limits of your plan.
• To process payments and send payment confirmations.
• To fix problems, prevent abuse and improve JobBuddy.

The extension works only when you start an action from the JobBuddy dashboard. It:

• Opens LinkedIn job search pages and reads the job listings shown there.
• Opens a job you choose, reads the Easy Apply questions, fills them with your saved details and answers, and submits the application.
• Stores collected jobs and its settings in your browser's extension storage. You can clear them from the dashboard at any time.

The extension does not read your LinkedIn messages, connections or password, and it does not run on websites other than LinkedIn and JobBuddy. You are responsible for using it in line with LinkedIn's terms.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run JobBuddy:

• AI providers: to extract resume details, score job matches and prepare application answers.
• Razorpay: to process payments.
• Hosting and analytics providers: to host the service and understand how it is used.
• LinkedIn: the answers and details you choose to submit in a job application are sent to LinkedIn and the employer.

We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Your data is sent over encrypted connections where available and access to it is restricted. Your login token, session and preferences are kept in your browser's local storage until you log out or clear it.

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your data, except records we must keep by law (such as payment records).

You can:

• Access and update your resume, profile details and saved answers in the dashboard.
• Clear collected jobs from the dashboard or remove the extension at any time.
• Ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account.
• Withdraw your consent, which may stop parts of JobBuddy from working.
• Raise a complaint with us, and with the relevant data protection authority.

JobBuddy is meant for job seekers aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the dashboard or by email.
